Yard of The Month
Yard Of The Month Winner - September 2026
The Houston September weather continues to limit the number of blooming plants – but Thai Anh Ho of 14803 Stanbridge has found a several varieties that are blooming and add cheery color to the yard.
Beds around the majestic pines contain purple Wandering Jew sprinkled with lavender flowers. Another bed between the trees has a small Peach tree, an Azalea and cheerful red Zinnias.
A bed runs all the way in front of the home and the walkway from the drive. The pink Curcuma dominates with a row of them blooming all the way across. If you’re not familiar with Curcuma, you’re in for a treat. Also known as Turmeric (the spice comes from the rhizomes), this tropical plant produces wonderfully unusual, pinecone-like flowers. We’ve admired these blooms before, and apparently, they just keep coming – putting on a beautiful show throughout the summer! There are also Vinca in pinks and white, Azaleas, Roses and finishing the end with a tall orange blooming Pride of Barbados.
Congratulations for being our Yard of the Month.
We still see lots of well maintained yards in Providence – despite the heat. Thank you all for making our community beautiful!
